So today I turn 40. I think the first 40 years have gone quite well and I plan to have fun over the next 40 years, and stay in good enough health to enjoy it. I've really cleaned up my diet, to the point where I rarely eat processed sugar or any type of refined, processed foods. Also I work out and my body fat is pretty low. I don't have kids so it's easy for me to focus on things I enjoy. My mom always said it was selfish to not have kids, which in a sense is true I suppose, because it gives me freedom to do what I want and not have to worry about the responsibility of children. Plus it leaves more money to spend on photography gear! ;) I haven't done a ton of photography this past spring/summer because I've spent most of my time working on restoring my yard to a native habitat for birds. However, I am signed up for Jim Neiger's Fly South With the Birds (http://www.flightschoolphotography.com/Workshops/FSP%20Winter%20Workshops/Winter%20Workshops.htm) workshop in January, and I plan to Spend a night with 10,000 cranes (http://www.rowesanctuary.org/photo%20blinds.htm) in the spring. Plus I'll do the Houston (MN) Owl Festival (http://www.festivalofowls.com/) and visit Sax Zim Bog (http://moumn.org/sax-zim/) over the winter. I'll be volunteering for the MN Raptor Center (http://www.raptor.cvm.umn.edu/) as well. Anyway, those are a few of my goals/plans that I think about today as I enter another big decade. Just thought I'd share!
