What's YOUR dream bag?

Here's mine:

Room for 1-series with 70-200 2.8 mounted, 24-70, 16-35, flash, spare batteries.
Filter and card pocket. Somewhere inside.
Separate small personal item pocket. (Organizer for keys, etc)
Laptop sleeve up to 17".
Room for books or other stuff, think enough to fit say three full 3" binders.
Clips on shoulder straps for camera or telephoto lens case.
Padded hip strap.
Modular attachment system of some sort.
Bottle compartments on both sides with straps to hold tripod and monopod.
Rain cover.

..This bag would be enormous. :p

Mine isn't so much a new bag as much as it is magically shaving 20 lbs. off the one I already have without removing anything.

I need the following bag:

-Size of a Phototrekker
-Totally waterproof, like a Dryzone
-COMFORTABLE and fully adjustable straps (shoulder, hip and sternum)
-With an easy-access port like some of the kata bags
-Easy-access external storage (out of the main compartment) for batteries, CF cards filters and a lens
-Water-bottle carrying capacity
-Tripod sling that holds the tripod firmly to the bag, and allows access to the main compartment easily when the tripod is mounted
-ability to carry a fair bit of extra stuff (lunch, a jacket)

I thought I was getting close with a Mountainsmith Odyssey, but it's weather resistance is absolutely minimal- it'll let water in, but sure doesn't let it out afterward. Uncomfortable straps, awkward storage, crap crap crap.

Also the one I have I love, but I'd like a backpack/sling so it won't get in the way on hikes and such. Can stay on my back.

I do alot of work in Southeast Asia and have to carry alot of stuff around but don't really want to carry a large backpack which hold all my stuff (2 bodies, 3 or 4 lenses, flashes, laptop, etc...) along with a second smaller backpack which is more manageable.
So it would be great if someone designed a modular backpack which carried alot of camera gear but was able to detach part of it to create a second, smaller daypack which carried only half of the equipment. I use two camera bodies for almost all of my commissions so it would be nice to have something that I could just carry an extra flash or maybe a prime.

I think I have my dream bag, The Think Tank Urban Disguise 30, I have a 40 as well but the 30 can look pretty plain with 2 non long lenses, one of which is attached to my 5d w/o battery grip like:
5D (with one of the lenses below attached)
135L f2
24-70L f2.8
1.4x tele-extender

Then if I've gotta go heavier I can do this:
5D with battery grip (camera carried separately in the front pouch).
24-70L 2.8
70-200L 2.8
1.4 tele-extender/extension tubes.
This gets a little heavy with the narrow strap (which kind of crumples with ridges if it's hot and I'm wearing a tank top-by the end of the day my shoulder is almost raw-it would help if they used something different than that rubber/synthetic stuff) if I'm going to be out all day so I switch the strap with heavier padding from the model 40 to the 30 and it works out very well. I would leave it on there but it's kind of overkill and really makes the bag more obvious, when everything is put away.
Once I set up the camera, the bag flattens a bunch and develops a thinner profile which makes it less cumbersome or in the way in tight areas.

My "Dream Bag" is actually three modular bags all connected as one around my body:

Kata R-103 Backpack connected to Kata T-214 Torso Bag connected to Kata W-94 Waist Pack. Realistically, though, you won't wear all three bags on you unless there's that rare need to carry lots of gear. But it's the flexibility of option, i.e., wear only one or two or three in whatever combination, that makes the modular system my "Dream Bag."

I'm thinking that the yet-to-arrive Domke F3x is going to be my dream bag... with a few minor modifications. Well, less than minor modifications. I have big plans as to how to modify this to be the perfect bag ;)

If it's anything like my Domke F-803 it's going to be simply awesome straight out of the box anyhow. Low-key, practical, tough, with just enough padding.

The Kata 3N1-30 is looking mighty fine.. and a great price too.

Backpack:

- waterproof with a WORKING ZIPPER haha!
- enough room for 2 XXD bodies back to back with a 17-40 and a 24-70 attached
- enough room for a 70-200 alongside the bodies
- enough room for one small fast prime (W/A)

- lightweight with nothing in it as to not START OUT with 5lbs ;)
lots of little pockets in a middle area for batteries/filters/rainsleeve etc...
- adjustable clamps on back for tripod+ballhead
- comfortable yet working waist clamp

can't think of anything else (Im sure I will after I post :))

I would pay up to $300 for this if it all came together nicely

I'm a cheapo for bags, which makes Kata all the more attractive. They make almost exactly what I want, plus they hover around $100. If only their 3N1 had a laptop sleeve and combinable compartments.
