View Full Version : Do you use a wedding checklist?

I have a wedding on Saturday and this is the first time I got a list of pictures they want. Most of them are ones I already do anyways, but the ones that I might not always get (like odd combinations of people that I wouldn't think to get)
In situations like this, do you just read off your list going through the group shots to get the ones they want? I have done weddings before, but I have never had a "LIST" before, so I don't know. I think I would feel weird just reading off it? I don't trust my memory to remember everything on it.

I work off a formals cheat-sheet if the B&G fill out the one I give them but that's it.

Yeah, I guess it is mainly for the formals, since that tells me who I need to get in the pictures. The rest of the stuff is just covering the event and catching all the important events.
Do you just carry it around with you and read off it?

That's the idea...

If they have a list of must haves group shots, make sure you have an event guide allocated to you. You don't want to be running around trying to figure out who Aunt Mabel is or trying to locate her!

No, I state it in my contract that I will not accept a "shot list". I do however advise the bride to appoint someone to round up people for formals or let me know if there is someone she must have a photo of. If she does not tell me, then it is not my fault.
MODS - this should probably be moved to business section...

I do but It's in my head from experience. But I mostly react to the event of the day!

I do whatever the couple want. If they want to give me a list to "make sure" I take it. Now, that is not to say I pull it out every 5 seconds, but if there were some odd combinations they wanted, it's perfectly fine to refer to a sheet of paper.

Well I would say 90% of what is on the list is stuff I would normally do already. The list is more for the combinations of people.
