Okay, so actually it's my 14th & 26th shot with my new 20D. How do they look?
Any criticism, constructive or otherwise, would be greatly appreciated! :)

The ice on the rock you could improve if you were to zoom out and place it in one of the rule-of-3rds areas. It's not to appealing stuck in the middle of the frame. As is it looks like a documentary shot of ice on a rock in the water. No offense meant. It is just very static as is IMO.
I think on the little girl you should have stopped down a bit to subdue the hotspot created by the slash of sunlight. I like the way it highlights her eye/face and body but it is just very strong. It's a pretty tight crop which works for me. Looks like you used fill-flash for the shadows which is wise under those conditions.
Good start. Keep it up.

Thanks Blur.
I'm new to the biz., it's always great to hear feedback like that. I see what you mean about the rock. Next time I'll zoom out a bit in stead of searching for the molecules within the rock. :)
