Hi. I have a question. I donīt know which is the best way to download the pictures from my camera. I have a CF reader and it is fast, I have also tried with the USB port directly from the camera, but it takes ages to download.

Can you tell me wich way is better?

I use the card reader built into my computer and on my laptop I use an external reader. It's the only wasy to go IMHO. My built in reader will download a full 1 gig card in a few minutes.

That's typical. I think most people prefer to use the card reader for that exact reason.

Neither is more right than the other depending upon your personal perferences.

I have never downloaded directly from the camera. It's just another drain on the camera resources. I have a USB2.0 card reader and it will move a 1GB card in less than 5 minutes. For me that is more than adequate.

You'll get opinions both for and against- but I think you have answered your own question as per your circumstances- if your card reader is faster for you- IMO use that. I just purchased a new pc that has a card reader and I have been using that b/c I also find it to be faster in my case.:)

I use my Sandisk card reader to and its much better than download directly

I'd say that 95% of the people who are on this board use USB 2.0 or Firewire card readers. I can download a gigabyte of photos in about 3-4 minutes max on my USB card reader. It would take like 15-30 minutes to do that going through the camera, which is USB 1.1.

I use a Silver Sandisk reader that matches my Drebel perfectly :)

Way faster then the pathetic Drebel usb 1.1 port.
