I was using the "Zoom Browser" that came with my camera on Microsoft XP. Had to buy a new computer and it has "Vista" on it and the Zoom Browser just doesn't seem to work right now. Do I need to upgrade my "Zoom Browser" software to use it in Vista??

Go here (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=14901#DownloadDetailAct) and download the latest version 6.1.1a. Install it over your existing ZB.

Is there anything special about zoombrowser? Any time saving features?

The only thing I found regarding "time" when using Zoombrowser is that is a complete "waste of time". Used it on and off, various versions over a couple of years. Always extremely annoying, so many bugs. Never does what it is supposed to and every upgrade was more bloated and made everything even worse , if that is possible. A really bad product and Canon should do themselves a favor and dump it.

Every Canon user I know no longer uses it for all the above reasons.

I switched to the free program Picasa for my downloads and simple edits and organization. Never had even one problem with it in over 2 years use.

You just don't need all the hassles that Zoombrowser seems to constantly bring up. (That's my 2 cents worth)

Well, now that I've upgraded and tried to use it, I tend to agree with the last few comments! I can't get it to open half my pictures consistently. Figured it was because I am not as bright as I should be, so am glad to see what other folks have to say about it. I too, use Picasa, with pretty good luck, but for some reason, it tends to mix up my pictures and they tend to migrate from one folder to another without any help from me. I sometimes wind up with wild hog and coyote pictures mixed in with the Christmas party, etc!! At least they are all there and open when I want them. I just have to keep moving them back to where they belong! Interesting, to say the least!!

Thanks for all the help!
