Want your moon shots to be better?
Crop out all the black and then see what you really did. Granted full framing is better, but the thing is so small in most lens' that it cant be archived.

I like the darker pictures... brings out more detail on the surface and in the craters.

Very nice shots, they look very clear... But BASmith said it right, you have to crop them a bit to see it better..

thanks guys. im pretty busy tonight, but tomorrow i will give the croping a shot.
the reason i didnt do it was i was scared that the quality would go down, but we'll see tomorrow.
thanks for the commnets. keep 'em coming!

Have you tried taking them in Raw? It gives you a little more room to play with the sharpness, shadows, etc., keep having fun!!!!!

You did great on these CM. Nicely exposed, although your close-up is a bit dark. I second Jimken's suggestion to shoot RAW.

Use #5 kid. It was the best of the lot. And raw is better.

Sorry about the delayed response. I kind of got caught up evacuating for Hurricane Ike. I shot my pic with a 100-400 and a 2x teleconverter so that put me at 800mm plus the 1.6 crop on the Canon 40D. I think that comes out to around 1300mm. I had a hard time getting a good sharp focus, even with that set up the moon is still pretty small in the frame....take lots of picture!!!! Oh and have fun.
