Sigma 530? Should work fine. The Canon 580 will take a CP-E4 battery pack (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/498738-REG/Canon_1947B001_Compact_Battery_Pack_CP_E4.html/BI/2312/KBID/3114), which is great if you need a lot of power - which you might using a diffuser. But don't burn the flash out.

Get Skyports (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/505381-REG/Elinchrom_EL_19360_EL_Skyport_Universal_Radio_Slav e.html/BI/2312/KBID/3114) or AlienBee Cybersyncs. And one of these (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/421306-REG/Paramount_PMMHSF1_Miniphone_to_Female_Hot.html/BI/2312/KBID/3114).

I wish I could afford something like that, but with gas prices being what they are nowadays, probably not. My best bet would probably be getting a new Saturn Astra hatchback (5 Door version).

In the past 3 weeks I have picked up: 28-135mm ($270) , 40d ($775), 4gig memory card (cant remember.. I think ~100) , tamrac expedtion 7x backpack ( $230), photoshop ($200)

total: at least 1600 dollars...

and about to pick up 430 ex II or ex. and stand to run as an off camera slave.
