Haha a mod can move this if he/she wants to
I just caught the first 5 minutes of "TMZ:rolleyes:" on fox (I know but chill its on right after the Simpsons andthe tv is like 6 feet away - no remote)
Kanye West gets his photo taken twice by a photographer and he grabs the guy and wrestles with him...then him and the bodyguard wrestle over the body/lens...kanye break the lens off the body...and then the body guard smashes the 1Series on the ground (looks like only a corner chips (on tv anyway)...and then Kanye SMASHES the white L glass on the ground and it shatters hahah!!!
THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL (smashing high end photo gear that is haha
here the video for you entertainment

Yup i totally agree! Totally illegal to damage photo gear, well my entire gear and backup gear was stolen (2 1Ds and all the L's) I think smashing it is almost close as to loosing it....

You don't know the circumstances, and we won't until it is brought to trial. Most likely airport security tapes will show that the paparazzi was at fault and the criminal trial will be dropped. Whether or not a civil suit would go through is a different story. And even that amount they declared is questionable, as it looked like lens mount failure rather than total destruction. You could see the 1dmkii (what it looked like) bounce a bit but nothing come out. At most it's 1k worth of damage to the body that's worth 2k, maybe claim it as 3k. The lens is probably a goner, but looked like a 16-35 mki so even if it was the case it's un-fixable, it's only 1100 max to replace it. The video camera is another story all together, but usually they take an xl type with an xlr mic. The mic sounds shot afterwards (could just be the way the videographer held it), but the other functions are fine and if there was damage it would be minimal and cosmetic. 10k my ass I say. Even if it was a brand new mkiii and 16-35 mkII, that max street value is 6k.

Yep. I have been with friends who are celebrities and witnessed what these paparazzi a**holes do firsthand. It should be criminal. I have had friends run off roads while being chased by these guys and tons of other things you wouldnt believe. They are the absolute scum of this earth and I am glad someone broke the guys gear, serves him right.

Before they showed the Kanye stuff they had a clip of one of their guys harassing Matthew McConnaghey (however it's spelt). I'm sure some of their jobs are more interesting than what some people do for a living...

Some of his music isn't that bad.... But yeah. hopefully the least he will have to do is pay for the camera lens. Hopefully it was a mark III and 70-200 2.8 is, so he will have to put out 5G's for that little episode

nah if you watch it on tv pieces chipped off the 1series, and i dont think any of the video equipment was broken, then just pulled back and forth a bit...my guess is 1dsIII and I doubt 16-35, dont think they would be using that in the airport (they don't care about the surroundings)...especially for close ups of a celeb haha, it would distory kanyes face;) you can't tell at ALL what lens it is from the tape...both are def broken. you cant see the detail on youtube that you see on tv
as for that papp...the camera guy was a young kid it looks like, early 20's at olderest...i saw his face on tv, small white boy ;) he gave up right away

LOL, the one still shot I saw (screencapture from a TMZ video camera) had Kanye clutching a speedlight. My first thought when I read the article was "what camera cost $10K??????" but I guess they took into account the lens/flash as well...
