Cibola NWR, AZ

If you're looking for the Red-winged Black Birds - a lot of them are down here where it's warm & sunny. This is a glimpse of a small portion of the flocks. There's a couple Yellow-headed Black Birds hanging around too.

If you miss the shots from the field - just go to the parking lot. They're waiting for you!

That's OK if the red-winged blackbirds are down there at Cibola now. They aren't due to make it to Northern California for another 6-8 weeks. I'll be on the lookout for them.

Thats a lot of birds! If you ever get bored you can count the little red patches and see how many there are :-) !

Seeing so many at one time must be a lot of fun (unless you're underneath them).

I really like that splash of red on their wing.

Shades of Alfred Hitchcock! Took a peak at your gallery and I think the cormorant is my favorite, although the hawks in flight were amazing and the wood duck is so colorful. Then again what's not to like about a cute little squirrel or the sandhill cranes or....

I saw one yesterday . . . but just one. Nice shot, I look for a few more of them to work their way up north.

Holy RWB  that sure is a bunch. I don't think I've ever seen that many at once.

Well you don't have them . . . all. As noted I found this 'one.' I am just learning to love to shoot the "Little Birds."

Plenty of them little guys in the Imperial Valley of California too. Never remember seeing those yellow headed ones though. Thanks for sharing.
