Finally! A pretty little Kestrel. There's plenty at Cibola and nestboxes everywhere.

It appears to be an adult female.

Beautifull,.
Great shots :)
I never have had a shot where the little tike was large enough in the frame to bother keeping.

A month or so ago, I got a full-frame head shot of a kestrel. It was with about 650mm at about 10 feet. I couldn't understand why it let me get so close before it flew off. When I examined the image in detail, I noticed some green pond scum around its little beak. Then I guessed that it had just eaten some scummy frog, and its belly was too full for it to fly anymore than it had to.
But at least I got the shot.

Hey sweet! I missed this one I guess - glad I didn't miss it completely.
I think that first shot has surpassed The Master of butt shots. Full butt and full head...

Lazy, very nice shots.
Just curious, at what distance did you shoot from the bird?
