Now, I used a Canon EOS 10D, 50mm f/1.8 prime at ISO 100, f/4.5 and 1/90sec.

I have to say that the 50mm prime is a terrific lens, it is as sharp as any of my L series lenses.

Very nice job finding a different perspective on a sunset. I agree with your assessment of that lens. I don't have any L lenses, but I can't imagine that the image quality would be significantly better that the 50 1.8.

Did you stitch photos or is this a crop?
