Now, put the camera away
How many times did I hear that this weekend? Except it was plural, I had a film body with me as well :D
Thanks everyone! I suspect I'll be here in 'People' a bit more now even if they are still candids.

What ANKE said "snap away"
I was there 7 months back when my second son was born. Looking back I wish I had taken more snaps.. It is never enough.

Thank you, everyone :D It has been a real trip so far for sure!
He was a few weeks early (even though 8 pounds and tall).. so he spent a few days tanning:

doing better now! We're happy to finally be home after 7 days in hospital (and he is only 5 days old).

My dad was 12 pounds and my uncle was over 14 at term (OUCH!) so there is some size running in the genes :D
Thanks for all of the great comments! I have a full b/w documentary style series of the event but I think many of them will remain private under threat of punishment from mum. I can't wait to get my film back, too! I shot some HP5 and Neopan 1600 through my new 10s.

And congrats on yours as well! I can get by on 5-6 hrs a night but I feel sorry for my wife who needs 8-9.
I'm wearing my son right now and can type with both hands; might I suggest a sling for easy POTN browsing? :D

**sigh** there is something so amazing about newborns... I LOVE your hospital photos.... be sure to get something of your wife sleeping with the baby... you know when they take a nap in the afternoon.. and she puts him on a pillow next to her face and curls around him.... those are the moments that a mother will cherish as the child grows older.. (at least for me...lol)

Perfectly executed..... WOW... it's amazingly beautiful. I can see a 30x20 inch canvas hanging up on a wall in your house somewhere.. this would be a beautiful piece..... An intimate, tender moment.... awesome job! :)

Thank you everyone for the great comments! It is tough deciding what to print... and now I've got my film back.
This is just from the web-res scan and the whites are too hot but man look at the tonal range from Ilford HP5 shot at ISO 320...... I love it.

This was shot with my iPhone! It is fairly decent for a 2mpx camera if you give it window light. If it tries to bump up the ISO, forget it.

your images move me to tears... My boys are 3 and 5 now and it really is amazing how fast they grow up. Enjoy every moment, every bath and every little baby massage. I miss those gazing eyes....
But I also enjoy running around our back yard and hiding behind trees. Life is grand!
Congratulations.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures. They are amazing, the subject AND the photos!
