its a good idea, you need to blend it into the original eye more, it looks stuck on? feather it at the edges and drop the opacity a little so the original eye 'lighting' shows a bit

It is fun to play around with photos. This is one I did a while ago.

awesome idea, but it looks a little sharper than the eye itself

for the first image this is a very helpfull technique, command or apple click the layer with the lens, this will selected the outside. Do Select->Modify->Boarder and select the boarder whatever pixel you want, stop down opacity. Try some light bluring, maybe Guassian.

Like the idea a lot.
prev comments valid that the lens image is sharper than the original image.
Another thing - human eyes usually have one curved highlight - check out various portrait shots to see typical eye highlights. if you can then manipulate the lens image to have a similar highlight the lens will appear to be more a (surreal) part of the eye.
Fun, messing around with images, isn't it!

1: You need to "spherise" the pic of the camera lens so it appears to have curvature like the eye
2: Ideally you want the light to appear to come from the same place in both components. The highlights are on the bottom right of the lens pic, and the bottom left of the portrait, which looks odd.
agree with other comments above eg difference in sharpness/contrast between components of this thing.

wish my eye had a zoom :-) !
Yeah but if mine did I'd like something better than the 18-55. Maybe a 24-70 L would work. :)
