Help! New SD790 IS

Hi! I just recently bought an SD790 IS and I cannot seem to open my images! What is going on?! I bought a dynex card reader for my sandisk mini card. Every time I try to open a picture, it says file cannot be opened - may be damaged. Well it better NOT be.... is there some file converter I need? I don't want to use Canon's software. I have Microsoft Photodraw and I edit my pics through that. What do I need to do? :mad:

Is the card a SDHC? (Secure Digital High Capacity). If so a normal SD card reader can't read it. I had the same problem with my new A590 IS/4 gig SDHC and tried to transfer images using my old reader. Try just using the camera directly.
