View Full Version : Photo Storage

This has been dealt with before, but my question is slightly different. I am off on safari in April and want to get a portable hard disk to save the photos to after each day. There are quite a few options out there, but what I am ideally looking for is a cheapish device that can display (and zoom) raw images. It does not have to have a screen, but I do want to be able to review the photos, for example, on a TV.

I have looked at the Epson P2000, which is very nice but it is quite a lot of money and you cannot zoom in on raw. The Delkin PicturePad also looks good, but it is over £350.

I am currently erring towards the Archos Gmini 220. This does not display raw, but is relatively cheap and small (and I will have to sacrifice viewing the raw images). It also has the bonus of playing MP3's if required - but this is not a must. It will display jpeg's though on its monochrome screen.

I have spent a great deal of time looking for a suitable device, and so far, I have not found exactly what I want (perhaps it does not exist). Has anyone come across a relatively cheap storage device that can view and zoom raw, apart from the Epson and Delkin?

Cheers,
Mark.
