My first attempts at more artistic styled glamour photography. I got a ton of positive feedback on it so I think I will be moving in that direction. If you want to see more, check out my gallery here (http://mball75.deviantart.com/)

very nice.. I like it. Different composition than you see with most model shots. I'm starting to see more people from DA on here lately..

I would love it if you would share your post processing technique and the software for the sepia tones in the first picture - I'd like to compare it with mine. I'll have to dig through my notes though been a while since I have done that.

Very nice shots!

Thanks alot Rick :) Its just the Powershot A75 set to sepia in portrait mode. Then I just added a light gaussian blur set at 2 in PS and used the eraser tool on her and the bottle to bring detail back to them but left evrything else lightly blurred. I like this effect because it gives it a kind of softer, dreamy kind of look. It also helps to create a little more depth of field that cannot be done too well with a point and shoot even in portrait mode. I will be upgrading to either a D-Reb or 20D very shortly :D

Thank you Ian. I have only been taking photos for 4 months now but I have had help and advice from some great pros about understanding lighting and how it effects your photos, you should see some of the crap I was shooting just a month or two ago. I still have ALOT to learn but these are quite a bit better then my previous efforts.

What so many people fail to realize is that the camera is just the tool, the photographer is the artist. A photographer who understands lighting and composition can take amazing photos with a disposable while someone who does not understand these things would produce terrible images with a $3,000 camera.

My favorite photography joke is based on this:

A photographer is sitting at a restaruant looking at his photos when the chef comes over and says "What excellent photos! you must have a great camera". The pissed off photographer looks at his food and says "excellent meal, you must have some great pots and pans".
