I like this a lot, nice contrast between the gentleman and the stone along with the the dark sky. Sort of gives the impression that he can't rest to long or he'll be caught out in the storm.

I'll back Sandy to the hilt here. Reminds me of a shot of one of my heroes, Wainwright. Same sort of pose and same pair of weary shoes. Nice composition too.

Is that a plane from Gatwick in the top lh corner?

I like it too, especially his shadow. Can you tell us some more about it? Bet it is old.

Nice shot! His cane, cloak-like coat and the weathered stone gives me the impression of a monk resting during some type of journey. If only he was wearing sandals! :)

Thanks people. This is a beauty spot a few miles north west of the coastal town of Brighton. Devils Dyke is a favorite for gliders and walkers alike. It was a mildish day except for when the cold north wind caught you .
The writing on the Stone seat says" His Royal Hiehness the duke of york declared the Dyke estate to the use of the public on the 30th of May 1928.
Thanks again people it means a lot to me :-)

Nice shot simon. I really love the way that the sunlight brings out the colour of the stone.

that is one beautiful picture to look at
lovely composition.
it's so good that the man was sitting to the side there

I love the sky, as though heavy rain was coming (or going)
looks like the same sky as the paraglider shot.
was it the same day?
