Just shot saturday night football (due to severe rain delay from friday), the stadium had the worst lights I've shot to date. I had to bump up ISO to an amazing 6400 just to get close to proper exposure.

Keep in mind I havent sorted through these or cropped for "quality" shots, but just wanted to share with you guys how the MK III did at this ISO.

Considering the conditions you've got good results.

yeah, I think so. 5yrs ago who would have even been able to consider 6400 ISO an option for usable shots at all?

nice shots...but do tell, are you saying you did not use any noise reducer program on these???

Yes Liam... good shots... but tell us... any NR applied in PP?
I just picked up a mkIII yesterday and snapped off alot of shots at Yankee Stadium. At an ISO of 1600 I felt they were a little noisey. And NR was set to on for high ISO in camera. Are there any other in camera settings you suggest?

LOL, noooooo. All my high ISO shots batch right through Noisware pro, but the original ones really arent as bad as you'd think. I'll post one from the game SOOC, so you guys can see.

I was just making a point that you can get usuable ISO 6400 shots these days, where that would have been unheard of just a few years ago.

The image below is SOOC, NO adjustments at all. Only sized for posting.

Yeah, I discovered the same thing. The real key is to get the exposure right. I've noticed a tremendous difference in noise if the image is a little underexposed. For example, for awhile I was trying to get 1600 shots and just "underexpose" them a little to push it up in lightroom, but I found 2000 or 3200 shots slightly OVER exposed yielded much less noise than the slightly "under" exposed 1600 ones.
