Before purchasing PS elements 3 can anyone tell me if it and ColorVision's ColorPlus claibration (gamma correction) cause problems with each other? If I understand correctly, after PSE3 is installed I must go into StartUp and disable (and delete) Adobe's gamma correction. When PSE3 is started from the desktop or wherever, do I need to disable gamma and/or color temperature (?) and/or color correction (?) inside the program itself? Just don't want to purchase PSE3 if I can't use it because I calibrate the monitor with ColorPlus.
On a related issue, do I need to install the ColorPlus icm anywhere in PSE3 and, for those of you using BB or BB Pro, should I check the Enable Monitor Color Profile box and insert the CP icm?
Thanks for your time and help.

Adobe Gamma, which is a small program to calibrate your monitor "by eye" (much less accurate than using a Spyder or similar hardware), interferes with the software for the Spyder. The Spyder software includes a small program which loads at startup and sets some settings in your video card right. Adobe Gamma does the same. When both programs load, they'll "fight" eachother.
You must remove Adobe Gamma from the Startup menu, so that it isn't loaded when Windows starts. That's all. You don't need to disable anything in PS Elements itself.
It's not so that you cannot use your Spyder when you have Photoshop (Elements or any other version). Lots of people have a Spyder and Photoshop.
Here is some documentation about how to setup colour management in Photoshop CS. It might be a little different in Photoshop Elements (Elements doesn't have all the colour management features that CS has), but at least you might get an idea of how to set it up:

Jesper,
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I knew Adobe Gamma had to be disabled in StartUp but wasn't sure if I needed to do anything after PSE3 was opened. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Although I have not had time to look over the above article, I am sure it will come in handy. For the moment, I guess I'll go order PSE3. Again, thanks so much for your help and for the reference material. Later.
