Spent the morning looking for the owls that have moved into the area. Here is a few of the shots.

Every shot here done with the 70-300 DO IS with CP.

I guess you are using this lens near it's limits? (low light, movement, etc)
The deer looks sharp and is very nice
Is that top shot strongly front focused?

Hi. What kind of shutter speeds are you getting with an added polarizer? What mode are you shooting in?

Yes I pushed it a bit.

All shots here were f/5.6 500 in TV mode. Polarizer was used because it was bright and I did not know what the target would be like.

I did not like what my standard process did with the owl in flight pictures, I will probably do a manual treatment to see if I can improve the quality.

Top shot is cropped, and treated. I was standing beneath the telephone pole and trying to avoid the sun when it turned and looked at me. Focus was AF, and at full 300 so yes it was heavy front focus.

Next trip I need to set faster speeds, some of the movement shots were blurred too much. Some good oportunites lost there. Next time.

Thanks for the input.

Any input on processing would be appreciated.

The last one looks blured from low shutter speed(?) but the focus does seem to be very acurate .
Not bad for a front on moving shot! The focus tracking speed looks promising
