I just got a copy of EF300mm f4L and I am happy on its very sharpness.
But I read from the manual the following:
"Do not turn on the Image Stabilizer switch when using the camera on a tripod. Doing so many cause Image Stabilizer misoperation. Turn off the Image Stabilizer before using the camera on a tripod."
Well, what does "misoperation" mean? Is it referring to "hardware failure" or only to the extent that the IS motor may misfunction when attached with tripod but resume its capability during handheld?
And I plan to use this lens on monopod a lot. I am wondering whether or not the IS shall be switched on when I attach it on my monopod.
