I've got dozens of this GB and I'm at a lose about what to do with them.
Further PP, different crop...suggestions would be good.

Is it good enough to show...?

I don't think you've got enough reach to fill the frame with the subject to a sufficient degree...the bird makes up a very small % of the image, very quick crop attached to hopefully illustrate my point.

I don't mean to be rude... but is there a reason why we keep revisiting this shot (and similar others)?

I thought my question was clear, am I phrasing it poorly?

I think walternewton has hit the nail right on the head. His crop is a good example of getting to the meat of the matter and reducing the picture to its essentials. Inclusion of a lot of the environment is sometimes good, but more often than not, closing in on your subject is better.

Hey Chauncey,
I don't think the crop needs to be quite as tight as Walter provided, but it does certainly need to be tighter. Also, in this particular shot I also have to honestly say that I don't really care for "the pose" of the GB. I'm not trying to be rude here, but to me this shot looks like it was poorly timed. Clearly the bird is fishing here and looks to have something "in his sights", but I would have waited until he had the fish in his beak instead of leaning over it like he is here.
It's really a very lovely scene so personally I'd keep trying until you get the shot(s) that your after! Sooner or later you'll nail it :D.
Peace,
Jim
