Finally I got a few decent photos of the leopards in our zoo. My first with DSLR, the only other I got is from 1998! They are really difficult to photograph because of the construction of the cage. There are 2 fences, the first one is just a railing to keep people back, then there is the actual cage about 1,5 meters from the railing so its impossible to get completely close in order to blur the cage completely and the masks in the cage are about 5 cm wide and about 15 cm high, really difficult to catch the leopards especially if they are moving. The weird patterns are cause by the fence masks :(

Unfortunately there were no signs of the cubs - its probably still too cold for them to be out.

Very good shots, under the circumstances. I prefer those zoos that provide a more natural (no fences) habitat for the patrons.

Definately and the lions and tigers have much better enclosures than the leopards have. The leopards also display the sad behaviour of pacing back and forth in the same spots from time to time.

I like the way the background on 2 and 3 would not give hint of zoo shots if only the tree trunk was a little taller

Very nice. I like the first one the best. I guess it's time for a zoo visit.
