I had a blast at the Indy GP.
Grabbed some random shots to share. Shot from the spectator area's, No cred's. Saturdays Practice with 70-200 2.8 and a 1.4 extender. These are lower res JPEG's. I have not edited any of the RAW shots yet

Nice shots. Which corner was this? I was on the back side T7-T9. These guys are not humans. They're so fast.

I was on the hill there at T6-9

I am always gobsmacked at the lean angles these guys get, and I ride sportsbikes myself! (although road riding is very different from racing of course).

Great shots under the circumstances, I guess you were shooting through a chain link fence? Try shooting AV, wide open, drop the ISO and get as close to the fence as possible, you will not get the fence in focus at all.

I was around there as well. We prob saw each other and didn't know. Most of my shots were to the left of the tv camera post.

Yeah, the fence sucked. Thanks for the tip. I will have to try that.

Love that last shot!
That method is good as long as you don't want motion blur. :(

Finally got to go through a few of them. I think these turned out OK. Please feel free to tear them apart and offer suggestions on becoming better. Most of these are 100% crop or really close to it. Disadvantage of having a 70-200 with a 1.4 extender. I need bigger glass!!!

You have some very nice shots. However, the Image Posting Rules (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=151328)only allow 8 images to be embedded. You may post as many links as you like however it might be a good idea to put them in a gallery so that we only have to click once to see them all.
