View Full Version : Local Jail . . .

We (our county) have just moved into a new jail building, for whatever good that is. I am sure the 'staff' enjoy the new digs, but can't think the 'inmates' enjoy it anymore than the old one.

This was taken with my G2 this past August, I wanted to take a look at what they were hiding back there . . . and I hated it. I feel sorry for all the folks that go through these places. I found little 'rooms' where I more or less figure unspeakable acts were performed on the less fortunate and or different of our local society. Out of the public eye . . . . of course. I am for freedom, and to let folks be 'different' even if I don't agree. As long as it harms no other and is within the existing laws. Yes this shot and the others from my 'break in' to the old jail, (now in the land fill somewhere) bother me. Western justice is often silent and harsh . . .

For reasons I do not understand . . . this compressed for web use at only 19% to stay under 100K.

If you ask me I hate prisons because they are too civilized. I liked the hard labor idea of way back in the day, not this scared government crap they have going on now. So I take it this is a county jail? If so isn't it safe to say most small time drug dealers, child molesters, rapist, and aggrevated assualties go to these jails? So I guess you would like it if these people got nice little apartments, and were protected from the violence of other jail mates. No some things I guess are pretty harsh, like to me no one deserves to be raped in jail.....but you know what.....If you can't do the time...don't do the crime. Also if you think our jails are harsh.....slap yourself. Then go do some research on a couple other countries, like Mexico and a couple third world countries....then you might get a better perspective on just how inhuman "our" jails are.

About the subject... I agree with Ian... going into prison is a punishment, not a reward. They have 3 meals a day, warm clothes and a place to be safe from the rain, etc... Now... what hapens inside... Here is an example of what hapens in my country (Mexico): the militaries have taken control of our jails due to the insecurity the inmates live inside, there are murders, drug dealing, etc...

About the picture... Do you have more of the inside?

I am sorry I posted this . . . seems to be more than just a picture involved. The guidelines for posting request that some information be given regarding the shot and why/how it was taken and etc. et al.

I seem to have given too much of the former. We have no Urban settings to speak of out here in the sticks, so this was most likely as close as was going to come for a shot(s) in this section. I think I shall gracefully let this one just slip away.

As to clarify a point, our cops are physically tough on minority and such, they tend to trash them up so to speak. That was what I was referring to as far as unspeakable things.
