Does anyone know if insurance is required to work as a photographer? A potential client is having a wedding at a restaurant and the proprietor has stated that the photographer will need to have insurance... what's this mean?

..You should be insured so that if someone breaks, steals, or if you lose your gear, it's covered.. and if someone injures themselves and it's "your fault" you won't be paying their bills.

Insurance is important, only problem is I don't think any insurance company would insure a 15-year-old. (Me)

Most pros have equipment and liability insurance.

Do not use your homeowner's insurance for this.

Try these: Hill and Usher (http://packagechoice.com/) and TCP & Co (http://www.tcpinsurance.com/)

The proprietor was probably talking about Liability Insurance. That's just in case you break something or someone that doesn't belong to you personally.
