i am looking to do a fashion type of shoot outdoors....what are the best places for this type of shoot? out by the water/docks? park? can someone help me out?

Your theme determines that IMO. Without a theme is like writing a paper without a thesis or topic, just not going to work.

First determine your theme, then picking out where to go on location should be easier.

Honestly pretty much anywhere can be made to work. The theme is fashion, so as long as the clothes and the model support it you can make it work on top of a building or on seamless. Some of my best shots have come from having a model show up and we just start shooting.

Location depends on what your client is trying to show, doesn't it? If it's their fashions that are the "Star" of the shot, I'd try to minimize having the background compete with the product as much as possible, to the point that I might not show any background at all.
