So, my first proper formal, full day wedding with reception, in a Church rather than a registry office.

Can anyone tell me, how many shots I need to give them at the end? I've got pretty much everything worked out.

Also, I want to travel light, as I'm flying, and want my 1DMKIII for the low light, as the Church is very dark indeed. (I have an STE 2 that'll help with low light focising). Should I be ok with this, or do you think I should take my 5D too? I know that the 5D has a full frame, but is it that important? If I need to change lenses I reckon I can do it quick enough without two bodies, and whilst I know you can use iso higher than 800 or so on the 5D with spot on exposure, I'd rather have the iso flexibility of the 1D.....

Any thought?

Thanks in advance..

Take the 5D. If you shoot weddings you should have two cameras. Mainly in case one fails (weddings are hard to do re-dos the next week.), but it's convienent to have with a diff lens on for easy wide vs zoom changes. Also, if you have two or more flashes take more than the one. For the same reason, gear failure. Flashes fail more often than cameras so this is a high priority, in my book any way.

A typical fairly large wedding I will take 800 to 1200 images and edit it down to 300 to 500.

The thing about traveling light on an airplane is you will certainly wish that you had brought that one more thing... you don't seem to have so much equipment that it would not fit into a reasonable size carry-on bag. Why not take what you have?

You always need back-up!

Yes, 2 bodies is essential. Lots of memory needed as you will take hundreds of shots. Good luck.

As for the number of shots .......... as many as it takes to record the day......

probably anything from 200 up
