I spent some time in the Tower of London yesterday. A fabulous place to visit but an awful place to take photographs.

For a start it is dark, very dark, all the exhibits are behind either glass or perspex, and the place is lit with hundreds of little halogen bulbs which reflect off everything, and if that isn't bad enough, what you are trying to photograph is shiny metal.

Anyway, I like a challenge so here goes. All taken with an EOS 1Ds Mk III with and a 50 mm 1.2

When you think about when and how those were made, it is amazing.

Nice photos, too!

Wow, great job you did! Love the DOF in especially #3 and #4... but then obviously that was the easy part :) Amazing work.

Pretty amazing workmanship in some of those especially the engraving. Amazing really when you think of the respective eras that these were made. The owner of No4 must have been some bigwig or something. Nice suit.

Nice shots too, ahhh the 1DSMkIII, one day........

Cheers,
Mark.

Looks to me like you did a fine job. If you hadn't commented, I'd have thought you used a tripod and extended exposure to gather enough light. They look very nice.
