I have an xti, but recently got a 40D...
When I connect the XTI to my computer the blue "print" button would light up and I could download to "my pictures".... When I connect with the 40D it is recognized, but the blue button does not light up and I need to open the camera through "my computer" and copy the pictures....
How do I do the automatic down load to "my pictures" on the 40D???

you actually used that button? That thing could break off and I would never notice it.
I think 99% of people around here pull out the CF card and use an external reader. Very cheap these days and probably transfer faster then your camera. Plus you don't have to waste the batteries during the transfer.

I had no idea the print button could do that! I might try it sometime.. but it's stil faster to just pop the card into CF reader (and also faster to transfer).

You're better off just using a card reader. I have yet to plug any of the many digital cameras I've owned into my PC (except for an old Kodak back in 2001 that actually used a SERIAL port, I was too poor at the time to spring for a card reader  )

I've set vista up to automatically download photos to a folder and then erase them after, leaving no TOC on the card, and all good to go again, I just sit back and wait, or sleep... ZzZzzzz.... hehe.
I tried with card readers, but I find the cable is so much more convenient.
You use the blue print button, whoa, you've got to be a one-in-a-billion here!!
Oh and enjoy the body change, the 40D is awesome!!
