Nice shots Jamie, I really like the first. I like how the carapace makes a skull with it's eye's closed on the Orb Weaver.

Very nice, I wish my orb weaver would cooperate like that! Mine always wants to be balled up on it's nest (or whatever the big knot of mess is in the center of it's web).

Actually the first one is a differenct spider than the 2nd and third. I think I saw 5 of these today. a Couple of them were to far away to get any shots of.

Wow.....I would hate to see them in my back yard..... Great shots though. How do you manage such close ups? With a macro or a zoom?

the first one I shot with a macro.
The second and third were with my 70-200 f/4 + 1.4 TC. The spider was not where I felt comfortable walking, so I shot him from the board walk.
