TC-80N3 and D30 do not seem to work. I went into the dealer and tried several things myself. Problems do not occur on D60s. Only D30s.

If you have a D30 and the TC try this:

Self Timer: 0
Interval: 0
Long Exp: 0
Frames: 5

Manual, 1/250, Manual Focus

Press start.....You will not get 5 frames

and this:

Self Timer: 0
Interval: 0
Long Exp: 10
Frames: 0

Manual, 1/250, Manual Focus

Press start.....After the exposure, check the info on the image and see what the exposure length is...for me it shows 8 seconds.

I own D30 and TC-80N3 as well and I did check your problem. It looks like there is not enough frame buffer of the D30. Therefore, it is not respond to the request from TC-80N3.

Solution :

1/. Set the Interval to 3 sec, then you can take 5 frames as you wish.

2/. Long Exp., you had to add 2 sec to the time you need, say if you want 10 sec, you should input 12 sec.

To check if it is the frame buffer, try switching to JPEG, not RAW.
I've had up to 8 or 10 continuous frames shooting motorsport with my D30, I knew I wouldn't have a chance in RAW so switched to JPEG for that day.
