Been messing around with some indoor setup's and a cheap ghetto light setup. Today I bought some GE Reveal 100 watt bulbs and wanted to see how they worked. Here are two of the shots I shot with it. Let me know what you think.

Settings were:
20D
f/14
ISO 100
Flash fired, Sigma super 500

Wow, I will be getting some of those bulbs for my next light set up. Those shots came out really well, nice work.

Did you use a white reflector in front of the tub or did you brush the specular highlights out of it?

You can save yourself the challenges of fixing the highlights in Photoshop by placing a large white card in front of the shiny brass tub and cutting a hole for the camera lens.

Bloo, didn't do anything to the tub in PS thats how it came out. But can you tell me more about the last part of your message? I'm interested in hearing how it works

Well, it's pretty simple, and after you had done several different surfaces, you'd have figured it out on your own.

Shiny objects reflect their environments. To minimize unwanted reflections simply place reflectors between your shiny subject and the unwanted reflection so that you get a white reflection.

Glare from the lights can be eliminated by proper light placement.

Check out a book called Light--- Science and Magic

Er... When you say "tub," do you mean "tub?" So, what's one of those? I thought "The Tub" in USA was what we call the bath? Least it always is in the movies I watch!

Funny, we call it kylpyamme here. :)

I don't think that's going to catch on here. Much easier to say or write tub. :)

How about phoeneticizing that for us so we can take a stab at it.

Hot kylpyamme.

Some great cross-cultural communication going on here but again, which bit in the lighting set-up is the tub?

Thanks

I believe the "tub" in question is the tub the bear in the first pic is sitting in. :D

doh!

I thought it was some photogenius shorthand for the thingy the bulb is sitting in. Pleas don't tell anyone I started this thread - what little credibility I have is fading fast! Still you clever people need people like me - don't you?
