Hi everyone,

Just got my 40D recently and I must say that it is an excellent camera (used to have a G7). Anyway, just went for a shoot around the neighbourhood and came across this kid at Kensington Market, Toronto. Apparently, a store had its bubble machine at full blast, flooding the street with bubbles which was akin to an invitation for kids to come out and play. This kid did, and like most kids his age, never noticed me taking his picture:

Which one do you like? When I was looking at the pics on computer later that night, I felt that it could have been better if I had gone down to his level. Any pointers on shooting/editing scenes like this? Suggestions/ edits are welcome, so long as you tell me what you did! :)

Cool captures! I'd crop out a lot of the background.

Thanks cre@te! It does look better with a tighter crop.

fixed it, i think. Thanks for your comments. I got lucky. I first saw the kid playing by himself with a can, and noticed he was lost in his own world, perhaps too used to crowds of people thronging his neighbourhood. Quickly enough, his attention was drawn to the bubbles, and I managed to capture the shots on time.

they looks really good.. i would have kept the same 4x6 look with the crop though.. but truth be tol i didnt mind the original crop because it showed hissurroundings, and i feel it tells a deeper story.. just my opinion though.
