Forgive me for using the terminology from the manual, but as a less than expert (much less), I am somewhat mystified by the settings to record my pictures with the A720IS. We are taking a trip to Italy and Austria next month and I will probably shoot many pictures. Is there any disadvantage to using the highest resolution setting versus one of the lower resolution settings? I have several SD cards so I don't think capacity will be a problem. I probably will not be emailing any of these pictures either. Recommendations??

if SD card capacity is not a problem always record at the highest resolution.
you may crop the pic or use other post processing and for this you need the best image.

Cards are cheap. Office Depot & Circuit City (at least) are both offering 2x 2GB SD cards for around $20 this weekend. You can always resize down later. It's much harder to resize up when you didn't get the data in the first place. Shoot Large Superfine for everything.
