Just purchased a Quantaray QDC 900WA, since the Sunpak DigiFlash 2800 I purchased a few weeks ago didnt want to fire with my Xsi/450D (tested out the Quantary QF30 which i1 the same flash as the DigiFlash 2800 when i was looking at the QDC 900WA and the QF30 didnt work either even though it said for Canon E-TTL II). Was fooling around with the flash and discovered that when its set to slave mode I can use the Xsi/450D popup flash as a master to fire the QDC 900WA.

While I know the QDC 900WA is no Speedlite 580EX II or even a 430EX, it still does what I was looking for in a flash, and unlike say a Vivitar 285HV the QDC 900WA is an E-TTL compatable flash, I have on camera control of some of its features.

Granted I jsut purchased the flash so I havent really used it yet other then some test shots.

I know your post is a couple months old but was wondering if you might be able to help me out. I just recently received one of these flash units from a friend but without a manual. I have no idea what the LCD info means, master / slave, etc or how to get it into ettl which it says it is.

any help would be appreciated. or a photograph of the manual if there is one.
