I deleted my pictures from "My Pictures" and all I have left are the thumbnails on Zoom Browser. How can I access these folders and thumbnails?

I am desperate. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi'ya,

It sounds to me like you have a problem. I don't use Zoombrowser - so I am going to make a few assumptions.

Most of these programs compile a gallery of thumbnails with links to the actual images. So double click on any given thumbnail and it will open a viewer window and load up the actual image for viewing, editing etc. I would also assume that unless you specified an alternate download directory, your images were being stored in the 'My Pictures' folder. So if you have emptied this folder you have in fact deleted your pictures and what you are now seeing in Zoombrowser are just the thumbnails whose links are now dead. (i.e. double click on them and nothing happens)

You have a couple of options - if you have not emptied your 'Recycle Bin' recently they may all still be there - you should be able to open it and restore them to the 'My Pictures' folder. If you have emptied your Recycle Bin but have done no major software installations or have not defragmented your harddrive, they should be recoverable with some of the specialist software that is available for this sort of thing. I don't have any names to give you but if you go to Download.com or one of these software servers and type in 'data recovery' or 'file undeleters' you should be able to download a trial or demo that will help you.

Hope you succeed - there are some lessons for you to learn from this, but then you know that already - 'always backup or make copies'.

Have a good one!
