trying to figure out how to do this? make masking tape and a textured background.

i'm making a blurb book and have an idea for the cover.

i want to have a textured background and then a few select photos on top that are holding the the photos to the background with masking tape.

my issues:

anyone have a good source for some textured backgrounds?
is there an easy way to make scotch tap in photoshop?
