Iv been trying to get a decent shot of this wasp all summer.

Hiya MJ,
Excellent series of shots, like Brian I think this may be an Ichneumon Wasp possibly Agriotypus armatus.

Ah, so that's how you get them to pose for so long! Lovely captures.
no..i glued him down..lol..JK..some guy on DPP forum saying i must either shoot dead or stick the subjects to leafs as he says its impossible to get them to pose long enough..i told him "tricks of the trade" ;) :lol: must be that time of the month cause from what i read at freds dalantech is getting the same trouble.people thinking hes using glue..LOL
yer its honey..what i did is caught the wasp in a plastic cup with a lid..i then placed it down on the grass..i then slid a leaf with some honey on it..soon as it started feeding i slid out the lid and lift off the cup then i took some shots..was pretty chuffed..been trying to shoot these all summer.
