Ugly Robber

**** this ugly brute a couple of days ago sunning itself on a fence post.

Think it's the Robber Fly - Dysmachus trigonus; can anyone confirm this please?

Yes, its a Robber for sure but I cant help with confirming the actual species.

Very ugly but quite fascinating to look at though - I do find them quite difficult to photograph because all that fur seems to really reflect the light
