A last minute decision saw me make my first visit to the Goodwood Revival on Saturday. I don't think it'll be my last visit either... it was probably the most enjoyable day of racing I've seen in ages.

The sun was a royal pain in the a**e, cutting the useable angles down for most of the day. I shouldn't complain about good weather though, we don't get it often!

Here's a few to give a flavour of the track action;

1. First race of the day, the Goodwood Trophy and a 1936 Parnell-MG

2. Same race, this time though it's the winner in his ERA

3. Tiny 500cc Formula 3 from the Earl of March Trophy

4. The Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy was a two-rider affair. This may be Jeremy McWilliams, but could equally be somebody I've never heard of!

5. Practice for the TT, with a nice Cobra down at Lavant.

6. From left to right; Tiff Needell, Derek Bell, Emanuele Pirro in the very entertaining St. Mary's Trophy.

8. And finally, a nice Ferrari 750 Monza at Lavant as the sun goes down

Wonderful shots! The bike and #14 Ferrari especially capture my eye. I love the sense of speed with the bike, and the almost-matching foreground/background colours of the Ferrari. What a lovely car, as well. Thanks for sharing!

I really do have to go to England for some Goodwood event some year. I have been to the vintage event at Laguna Seca a couple times. I am very jealous.

I love #7, the horizon line reflection really shows the lines well. great capture.

I think you may have done this once or twice ;) Your panning is perfect! Mind sharing your camera settings?

Thanks.

The exif should still be intact, but they vary from 1/320 on the Touring Car shot to 1/125 on the bike, all on shutter priority. All with a 300 f/4L on a 1D mkIII.

Superb shots.

I can only agree with you about the weather.

Never enough sun in this country.
