I bought the MindStor PS-1810 (10 gig) portable hard drive and it's the miraculous answer to storing photos on a long journey. I sent the first one back because it would shut off when I tried to download from the compact flash card. I ordered another one and realized that you must charge the batteries at least three hours, regardless of what the charge meter read-out displays.

Since the batteries don't build a memory, you can charge overnight. 10 gigabytes of photos in a portable battery powered Palm Pilot sized unit! This is the answer to multiple, expensive compact flash cards. Check one out.

Also ordered the timer and extension ford for the D 60 will try it tomorrow.

I use the 30 Gig Delkin Picture Pad myself, Advantage is the LCD display of images stored on the Picture pad. Not sure if this is also on mindstor; but on Picture Pad I can also display to a TV/VCR with video cable input, very handy if I want to see it bigger while travelling. Only catches with the Picture Pad are you must use remote for display on TV (very annoying if you forget the remote) and the battery life is a bit shorter then I would like. The micro-drive cards especially sucks up the battery life. This can be solved by buying a spare battery or two.
Saved me from buying more/larger CF cards. Just use a couple of 256meg (or larger) CF cards and switch them between D60 and Picture Pad.

My Mindstore stopped working within 2 weeks from its purchased. Good for me, I returned it for a full refund. It does not mean that micro HDDs are bad, but they are definitely less roboust than CFs. Thereafter, I have decided to go only for CFs. Price is coming down and hopefully in near future 1 GB CFs will be cheaper or equal in cost to 1GB Microdrive.
