My wife and I have an EOS 300D, with the standard EF-S 28-55 lens it came with and an EF 55-200 f/4.5-5.6 lens that we've bought since.

Anyway, we're both relatively new to photography and have been wondering about taking photos indoor at night, for example, at concerts as a member of the crowd, or at a party or wedding or whatever.

Does anyone have advice about how best to do this, or whether we even have any chance of getting decent photos with the equipment we've got, particularly at times when you can't use the flash?

Not too many options if you can't use flash:
1. bump up the iso rating to maintain decent shutter speeds
2. use faster lenses (such as the 50mm F1.8 which is dirt cheap but great!)

Fair enough. Thought that might be the case. I'm going to use my old Pentax film SLR camera and look into getting the 50mm f/1.8 lens for the Canon sometime soonish.

Thanks for responding.
