I'm relatively new with Canon & their rebates. I've seen 2 so far. The first one (last fall) did not include any bodies. 6 Mos ago, they included very tempting rebates on the 40D and 5D. What is Canon's pattern? Will they have $200 off the 40D and $300 off the 5D starting in a few weeks?

With 40Ds in the $900 range, $200 off would be too good to pass up.

There's rebates on the 40D and XSI with 2 different zoom lenses going on now:

Oh, yes there is, but I was hoping for $200 off the body alone. I don't need or want the lens and don't want to go through the hassle of buying & reselling it.

I sure hope so. Id rather it be 300$$ off the 5d though if I had to choose. That would be too good to pass up.

You CAN get $300 off a 5D!

Just buy a mint condition used one, with box and everything. Pretty simple, isn't it!? :D

In fact there's one right here that's over $300 off new...

I just happened to see that one! Wasn't that nice? ;)

canon's cashback in may/june was £100 [~$200] on the body alone - i doubt they would do as much several months later.

I don't know the monetary amount, but with the 40D being out for over a year, I can practically guarantee there will be a rebate for it.

And when that promotion ended, Canon dropped the list price by the amount of the rebate. I agree with you.
