Cliff Notes at bottom....

Hey guys so tonight I was at the womens field hockey game with my camera and was shooting around. It was pretty nice out so I decided to go. I saw some of the normal photographers there and I never really am bold enough to go talk to them, but tonight I did. They were super cool. There were two of them and they were shooting with Nikon's. I cant remember which model exactly but I know its the equvilant to the 1dMKII I believe.... And they both had a 300mm 2.8 prime on the camera. It was awesome. and the guy that was there had a canon 5d with the 70-200mm 2.8 on his hip. He asked me to come shoot with them even though I only have an XT. So we chatted it up and guess what? He offered me a job! He said that I get to use the company equipment, which consists of both nikon and canon brands. but I shot with the nikon.. and i have to say it was really really nice. those 5fps were soo different from my xt... anyway, Sorry this is so long but I wanted so say that I might get a new job doing photography... so woot!

Again Sorry it was so long....

CN: I was at a field hockey game. two photographers were there, invited me to shoot with them, I got to shooot with a really really awesome nikon, and got a job offer.....

It is amazing to use a camera with a fast shutter speed isn't it. I tried out an XSi, and there is no comparison between that and my 40D. I do think that the rebels are a great camera and capable of taking very similar, if not equal, shots in almost all conditions. You should be fine with the XT until you can upgrade to a faster camera. Good luck!

^^That photo was actually taken with my xt... lol... i would love to shoot with a faster and better IQ camera but Im happy with this for right now until i can afford the upgrade... maybe this coming winter/spring...

I shot two field hockey games this past week with my XT. And a soccer game - I was at 1600 ISO, 1/640s, and f/4 on my 70-200 f/4L. It was rough. But even so, I was able to get images that were fine for newspaper use.

The field hockey ones turned out great. I'd love a 50d and a 300 2.8, but that will have to wait. I can still improve a lot with the xt.
