Hi,
has anyone got any experience of using this display? The anti-glare coating on the screen of my mitsibushi diamondpro crt has come off and it's time to upgrade.
I'm thinking the lacie should be ok as far as color reproduction goes ( for an lcd anyway )
cheers!

I don't know that monitor, but my LaCie CRT is a great monitor. The brand gets a thumbs up.

stick with CRT. LCD is only good for web surfing, at best.

I've used the Lacie ColorVision 19" TFT extensively for over a year at my day job. Well, actually, several of them ;)
We found we could get much better colour accuracy from these TFTs than from most CRTs and that includes the several Sony tube based CRTs they replaced.
Do note that these LCDs do not go very bright, i.e. for best viewing and accuracy you need to use them in a room without lots of sunlight. There again, that is true for any CRT as well. :)

As for TFTs only being used for web surfing ? Wake up man, where have you been, the world has moved on without you. ;)

Ian,
I've not heard of the colorvision, must be a discontinued range - the photonvision's brightness is 250cd/m2 and contrast 400:1 which looks to be as good as most TFTs.
Anyway, I've ordered one and it arrives today - so just a case of suck it and see ;)

Sorry, ColorVision = PhotonVision, Colorvision is an application we use hence the system is called "the colorvision box".
Anyway, excellent displays, not cheap, but certainly up to the job for photo work.
Cheers

About time you looked at the better TFT's isn't it? They are now more accurate in colour reproduction than most CRT's, unless you are prepared to spend megabucks for a studio monitor.

Well, the monitor has arrived and I have to say even with all the scaremongering about TFTs it's very nice indeed. Yes that may be because my old crt was so fuzzy and dull..
I'm very impressed with the swivel portrait mode. The photographs look so real I could almost step into the scene:)

Red Squirrel...
Please post back after doing some calibration, printing, etc. I would be most interested in your opinion how TFT compares to CRT in that regard. Thanks.
