A friend of mine asked me to touch up an old b&w family photo that has taken on a greenish tint with age. I didnt have any problem getting rid of the green tint but the problem is the scan lines. When I scan anything in on my Lexmark all in one, the scan lines are terrible. Is this just because it is a cheapo scanner. I tried some noise removal and dust and scratches in PSCS but it softens the features too much. Any suggestion?

Thanks Scott, That information looks very useful. I will check it out. I have read the scanning basics 101 a while back but not 102. I will check out the software too.

Thanks Scott. I read the scanning basics 102 and my problem is described in the FAQ. It seems my scanner has gone bad. It was a cheapo and now I have excuse to buy a better one.
