We were building some wardrobe and he just wondered in to one with one of my Bass's. I think he has potential.

nice! my son loves my acoustic guitar although he's only 15 months. can't wait till he's older and we can jam :)

What kind of lens (prime or zoom) do you think is best to capture photo of this age group? or when he was 1-2 years old? I know 50mm on 40D is a great portrait lens, but zoom lens is more versatile.

Personally i prefer a zoom for chasing the kids. I find its quicker to compose the shots if you can use a zoom. Much quicker than trying ot back away and missing the shot.
Saying that im happy with any of the lenses i have but my 17-55IS is on my 40D 90% of the time. And at home so is the flash.
