View Full Version : Thoughts on how to link discussion threads to photo threads in G&N?

Pekka (or any other moderator or admin),

I was wondering what the best way - if there is a way - would be to link discussion of G&N (either in general or to a particular photo-sharing thread) to the actual thread. I'm sure there are lots of people like me who can't post to the actual G&N forum (due to restrictions - which which I have no problem at all, btw) but would love for the photographer to either benefit from any critique or receive compliments (when they're due).

I find myself sending an awful lot of PMs.

As I said above, I have no problems whatsoever with the posting restrictions - just trying to figure a way to work it...

Thoughts?

Tony

I think you can email the Mods to get a special pass to get on the threads earlier than 6mths or 500 posts.

Of course, you can link from a thread in G&N Talk to the particular post/image in question, but the intent of this forum is not for critiquing images but to discuss techniques and ask technical questions. The G&N restrictions on postings are to ensure that the members with access completely understand the rules of the G&N forum and have the maturity and self-control to limit their comments to the photography and not the model (within reason).

Allowing critique of the image outside the G&N Photo Sharing forum would defeat the purpose of those access rules and make moderation fo the two forums that more difficult.

In fact, if you read the G&N Forum Posting Rules link in my Sig, you'll find the process for G&N access is clearly detailed there.
